BLOG BITS from the OFFICE 4/30/10

Happy FRIDAY Georgetown Families!!  Wow, what a week……. but what more could we ask for…  a beautiful and sunny Friday!  Woo-hoo!  Also not that we are counting or anything, but someone made us a wonderful countdown chart for the office and we are down to 29 days of school!

NEWS FROM THE OFFICE

GEORGETOWN SPRING CARNIVAL….. Our Spring Carnival is on Saturday, May 15, 2010 from 11am to 2pm.  This is a favorite time for Georgetown families to join together in a day of fun and fundraising.  This year all proceeds from the carnival will be donated to the Lamers Family. This is one special family that is in dire need.  Currently, the Lamers Family is financially struggling with medical expenses incurred with their son, Brodie, who has Cerebral Palsy, a paralyzing medical condition.  This family needs to make accommodations to their home as well as purchase a handicap accessible van for Brodie. In addition to Brodie, Tisha and Matthew have three children to support. In today’s economy, this has been quite a challenge.

The Parent Club would appreciate a donation from ALL of our students.

We need for all students to bring in:

Baked Goods for the Carnival Cake Walk Game: K – 2nd grades

2 Litters of Pop for the Carnival Pop Toss Game: 3rd – 5th grades

All baked goods & 2 liters of Pop should be dropped off to the school office by Friday, 05/14/2010 by 4:00 PM.

If you have cares or concerns, please contact Susie Coxen 669-3662 or Stacey Alexander 914-6896.

In order to participate in the games and bounce house, etc the children will need to have a wristband.  Any child over 2 years of age will be required to have a wristband to participate.  Wristbands purchassed in advance will be $10 and if you purchase the day of the wristband will be $15.  The pre-sale ends MAY 7TH. Wristbands will be handed out to those you pre-ordered on or before May 14.  Please make checks payable to Georgetown PTC.  I am attaching the wristband order form also if need to print one off.       Spring Wristbands(2)

This will go until May 7.  Please make sure your student is prepared for this!  Remember a towel, a swim suit, and most important of all….. don’t forget to send the “unmentionables” if the student wears their suit to school underneath their clothing.  The office always has to make many phone calls for such things when swimming starts.  We appreciate your planning ahead for this!  : )
