News from the office….

We only have  2 days of school next week. We have Wednesday, Thursday , and Friday off for Thanksgiving. We hope everyone enjoys the time off and time spent with family and friends! The P.E. CARES food drive wrapped up today and we want to say thank you to all who donated! It is greatly appreciated! The hallways have been full of Holiday music for a while now and the kids are getting excited for their program! It is Tuesday Dec. 1. from 6:30 – 7:00 is Kindergarten, 1st grade, 2nd grade and 7:45 – 8:15 is 3rd grade, 4th grade, and 5th grade. The Holiday gift shop is coming right up too. That will be held in the library from Dec 7 – 11. This might sound crazy , but there is only 27 more days until Holiday break! I know I have a lot to do before that!! : )

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Music News….

First and Second graders are doing a song using flashlights this year. Please have your child bring in a normal size flashlight (Not the tiny ones… these need to be the standard size- about 3″ diameter ones or about the size of an Oreo cookie). Please label the flashlight with their name and they will bring them home after the program. We will be practicing with these flashlights in class this week so it is really important that students bring these in asap. I will store these in my music room in boxes until the program. Thank you so much!

Toys For Tots Bin….

toysfortotsDo you know about Toys for Tots? It’s a great charity that provides happiness and joy to kids on Christmas morning. They cannot do this without our help.My family and I  have been giving to Toys for Tots for a long time and for the past three years, we have sponsored a TOYS for TOTs box at Georgetown.  This has been very successful and Mrs. Reagan has agreed to let us continue this tradition again this year.

We will be collecting new, unwrapped toys for kids for the next two weeks. Toys for Tots will distribute these toys to kids in need throughout our community.  Please consider donating an unwrapped, new toy.  At the end of the collection period, my family and I will take these toys to the collection site which will distribute the toys to children within our community.
