Welcome New Students

new-students-better-1

This year, Georgetown has 40 new students in grades 1-5.  Our students have moved to our school from other schools in Michigan and the greater United States.  Check out the photo above of 38 smiling faces — 2 were absent.

Sometimes when you’re new to a place, it can feel overwhelming and lonely.  I wanted to make sure that all of the students saw that they weren’t the only new faces — there were many others who were joining our school family to help make it better and stronger.

On Friday, I brought them all together for SPRINKLES donuts and an official welcome.  We took a group photo and had time to talk with peers in their own grade group.

New parents of these new students, please keep us posted on how we can help your child feel welcomed and adjusted to Georgetown.  We take our work of building community seriously…and we value your input.
