Art News…
screen-shot-2016-11-30-at-11-01-55-amFrom Mrs. Brouwer….
All the beautiful art that we’ve been creating is safely stowed away in the art room.  We will carefully pack up the art next April and will send it home with your child.  In the meantime, please check out the student art posted in our ARTSONIA on-line art gallery at artsonia.com!  There are over 13,000 pieces of student art from our school on display, with new art being added every day.  Thinking about Christmas gifts?  Your child’s art can be printed on notecards, ornaments, and many other gift items from Artsonia’s web site.  Bonus – a portion of your purchase goes right back to Georgetown’s art department to help us buy supplies for more art projects!  You will need your child’s Artsonia Key Code to access their photo gallery – email me at jbrouwer@hpseagles.net. and I will be happy to look it up for you.

Gifts of Appreciation…
Christmas is a great time to recognize those special people – teachers, coaches, counselors, bus drivers, and other staff members who are a positive influence in your child’s life and school experience. One way to show your appreciation is by making a donation in their name to the Hudsonville Education Foundation. It’s a gift that will continue to give. When a donation is made to the Foundation, the name of the honoree will be posted in each building and notification of your donation will be sent to them. The Hudsonville Education Foundation is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization that was founded to enrich and enhance education in Hudsonville Public Schools by funding projects and programs that will directly impact Hudsonville students. The HEF is managed by The Community Foundation of the Holland/Zeeland Area.Your donation will not only honor a staff member but will help fund future grants that will directly impact Hudsonville students. See the attached flyer here for the form to be filled out with your donation. See this flyer to print out the form to give your gift. gifts-of-appr-dec-2016

Snow Day Procedure for Hot Lunch…

screen-shot-2016-11-17-at-11-15-50-amSNOW DAY PROCEDURE FOR HOT LUNCH ~ With snow just around the corner, the food service program would like to remind parents and students about what will happen if school is closed due to weather. If the district is closed, the menu that was supposed to be served on the snow day will be moved to the next school day.  An example: if school is canceled on Tuesday due to weather, Tuesday’s menu will be served on Wednesday and the menu that was scheduled for Wednesday will be completely canceled.  Because of our computer lunch account system, there will be no need to issue credits and your student will still be able to order a lunch if they need one. The only exception to this policy is if school is canceled on Friday. In this case, Friday’s menu will be completely canceled and we will continue with the regular menu on Monday.  Information on what menu will be served on the day you return will be available on Twitter or the foodservice web page at www.jenhudfood.org. Please feel free to contact the food service department at 457-2400 if you have any questions or are unsure of what the menu will be. Thank you! ~ Stacey L. Wykoski, Food Service Director
