Word of the Week: ORGANIZE

This is our 16th word of the school year…and our first word of 2017.

This is a word I live by — organize.  Before I accomplish anything at my desk, I first have to bring order to my work area by organizing the papers and clutter that are in my work space and line of vision.  I do the same when preparing a meal.  If the kitchen is in disarray, I bring order to the counter before I get out the ingredients to prepare the meal.  This is also a skill set we are trying to teach  our students — learning happens best when with an organized work space.  Our school wide definition is below.  Try to check out the ORGANIZE song.  It’s played in all classrooms to help students internalize the meaning of the word.

  • Definition: to arrange, classify, order or consolidate
  • Link to the song:   organize
