Week 36: May 22-26, 2017

Just chillin’ before the next camp activity

As I write this blog post, the 5th graders, their chaperones and the 5th grade teachers are settling in at home after a wonderful time at Camp Henry.  This experience takes months of planning — including fund-raising, activity planning, chaperone recruiting, and the careful critical task of building camp cabin and team groups.  Our PTC also makes this event possible (reminder…all parents who donate to our WALKATHON are the PTC) with financial support.  On Friday, 5th graders will celebrate their 6+ years at Georgetown with a special outing!

I have to tell you, as I watched them work through their team building activities, I pictured them as kindergarteners, first graders, second graders…. and amazed by how much they have grown into their personalities and individual spirits.  I am going to miss them SO MUCH!

Here’s to our last full week of May.  Hoping for sunshine on Monday when our adorable first graders will be exploring John Ball Zoo!
