News from the Office…

Thank you so much for the generous donations from walk a thon!! We will announce all of the winners very soon! We want to say thank you to all of the parents that volunteered as well. It was hot, but we were able to get it in in the morning and still have a SUPER day! We are beyond grateful for all of the support you show our school!

Picture day is done and went very well! They should be bringing home their packets in the next couple of weeks. If your child was sick or was not at school for picture day, we have picture retake day scheduled for Thursday, October 26. If you want your child to have their picture retaken, simply send their picture packet back to school with them on the day of retakes.

If your child is 1st through 4th grade, they came home with a coloring paper. This is a contest for all 1st – 4th grade students in Hudsonville and is done through the Hudsonville Area Chamber of Commerce and the City of Hudsonville. If your child would like to participate, please have them color their paper and bring it back to school. They will be picked up by Oct. 20.

Lastly, if you are looking for a way to enjoy the beautiful Fall weather, you can go check out Art Prize! This year Hudsonville Public Schools has an Art Prize entry by the DeVos Place Convention Center. It is outside along the river. It is titled “Only One You” and is #66018. There are about 6000 rocks painted by Hudsonville Students in grades K – 12. If you haven’t seen it yet, go take a look!!

If you are going to the homecoming game tonight to cheer on the Eagles, it should be a great night for that as well! Go Blue and have a great weekend!!

Library News…

Sometime this week your child will be bringing home a Calendar from our Book It Pizza Hut Reading Program.  The way it works is your child will have a goal on his/her calendar for each day/week. At the end of each month, they bring their calendar back to school and give it to their teacher.  The teacher will give it to me and I will issue them a coupon for a FREE personal pan pizza from Pizza Hut!  This program is optional but is just another way that we want to encourage our Georgetown students to read!!  This program runs from October through March.  If you have any questions just email me at jvandenb@hpseagles.net.  HAPPY READING!!!

Hay Day 5K!!

Love In the Name of Christ is partnering with Hudsonville Chamber & the city of Hudsonville’s Urban HayDay Event to bring you the first annual HayDay 5k!

This official run will travel through the Love INC neighborhood and scenic Elmwood Lake paved trail, raising awareness and funds for the local nonprofit, Love INC, which exists to support and serve the local community to transform lives. As Love INC becomes informed of the needs of vulnerable neighbors, this non-profit alerts local church and business partners and connects them to these individuals while providing guidance and resources they might need. Love INC challenges the church to believe in the power of relationship and journey with others towards a life of transformation.

Join us as we pursue the brokenness in our community and journey toward solutions together by participating in the first annual HayDay 5k event!
