Week 8: October 16-20, 2017

We have been back together for 8 weeks — 32 school days of making friends, learning routines for the hallway, playground, lunchroom & classroom — and doing the important work of learning.

When you visit Georgetown, we hope that you see us walking quietly in the hallway and being respectful and kind to friends, staff and visitors.  Make sure you look for some of these special areas in our building:

  • Art Prize Rock Installation – Front Entry Way
  • Student Art Installation:  Framed and displayed in every hallway
  • Student Art Work:  2017-18 pieces displayed on bulletin boards in each wing.
  • ONLY ONE YOU student photos:  Every student will be on this board before the year ends.  These are black and white photographs that I take throughout the year and post so that we can honor every single individual in our building.  Currently, all staff, new students gr 1-5, kindergarteners and fifth graders are on the board.

Looking ahead to next week, we have our first ever Culver’s night. Teachers and PTC members will serve as runners for orders taken through the drive-thru.  In exchange, Culver’s will donate a percentage of all the earners between 5-8pm to our school.   Spread the word that the Culver’s (7393 Cottonwood Dr) is the spot for dinner on Monday, October 16.
