Week 34: May 7-11, 2018

We have a pleasant, beautiful spring like week ahead.  It would be wonderful to have great weather for our kindergarten field trips and fourth grade M-STEP brain breaks.  Some good news about M-STEP:  All testing will be completed by Friday, May 7.  YIPPEE!

Next week is National Teacher Appreciation Week.  A wonderful group of parents will celebrate and honor the staff with special events throughout the week.  During my time in education, I have worked in several districts throughout the state, working closely with teachers, parents and office staff members.  The staff at Georgetown is exponentially SUPERIOR to every other staff I have EVER worked with.  This staff stands out because of their commitment to put children first, drive to stay up to date on best practices for instruction and devotion to their profession — working hours above and beyond as well as spending personal money on their classrooms/students every year.  There is no other profession like teaching — and the Georgetown staff is the best you can find.  I feel honored to work with them.

The latest APPLESEED district newsletter is out.   Highlights include articles about Georgetown’s first grade team and our fourth grade symphony conductors!

Check out the highlights of our week below.
