Our Last Week of School for 2017-18

It’s our 38th week of school.  We’ve been together for 178 days or  1,253 hours or  75,180 minutes.  In other words, the staff and students at Georgetown have spent a great deal of time learning to share physical space, listening space, books, materials, ideas and more.  We have eaten together, played together and learned together.  Sometimes the days went by slowly and seemed hard to get through — and other days flew by and we couldn’t believe how much we accomplished in 7 hours.

We’ll say goodbye to our 5th graders this week — wishing them a happy summer and wishing them well in 6th grade at Baldwin Middle.  Most of these kids have been at Georgetown for six years….some for seven year.  I am excited to hear about their accomplishments in the years to come — and sad to see them go.

I want to thank all of you for your support this year.  We could not do all that we do without your YOU….the parents of these amazing children.  I wish all of you a wonderful summer!   If you can, visit us during one of the five Tuesday Summer Library Days (9:30-10:30 am).

Look for report cards to arrive home by mail between June 16-18.  The teacher’s name for the next school year will be listed on the report card.   The blog will be updated throughout the summer.

Wishing everyone all the best of Summer 2018!
