Week 3: September 9-13, 2019

We are excited to have our first FIVE DAY school week.   Each week, we get closer and closer to building our routines and expectations for learning, playing and growing together as a school family.

This past week, much of our focus was on quiet hallway walking (eyes forward, hands by side and quiet mouth) in addition to SOAR:  be SAFE, OWN it; ACT Responsibly and be RESPECTFUL.  On Friday, we took these same SOAR practices/expectations out to the bus loop and on the busses for some guided lessons.   This required having our busses and drivers stay at school for some additional time in the morning on Friday.

Many thanks to our bus drivers for spending an additional hour at our school so we could complete these lessons on the bus — and to Mrs. Stauffer (our district behavior coach) who created the lesson.  We want all of our students to SOAR as bus riders.  Safety is #1, Owning it #2, Acting Responsibly #3 and Be Respectful #4.

See the video at the top of this post for some photos that highlight our bus lesson.

Here’s to a fantastic WEEK 3!
