The Brillhart’s Visit Lake Michigan

Mallory and Rachel Brillhart walk along the pier in Holland.

The Brillhart’s visited the Holland State Park to see the ice formations during their winter break.  Their photo and story was featured in the Grand Rapids Press.  The ice formations along the lake are stunning — and a visit  to the lake shore during the winter should truly be on your must do list!

Winter Walk Along Lake Michigan

The winter sky was a brilliant blue….and the snow crystal white—the perfect day for a walk along the lake.  Because of the recent snow storms, icebergs have formed along the beach front.   Look at the photos below to see the beach in winter wear.

I hope you are enjoying your winter break and the beauty of the day.

Winter Break Snow Storm

The snow storm is arriving just in time for WINTER BREAK.  The upside….Mr. Ceglarek doesn’t have to worry about calling a snow day tomorrow.

While shoveling the wet, heavy snow off my driveway, I realized:  This is PERFECT SNOWMAN SNOW!  If you make a snowman, snow person, snow creature over break, send me a photo and I will post it on the blog!

Enjoy your four days off…and have fun in the snow.

Mrs. Reagan

PS:  Colton Roby:  Remember, if you send me a photo of a jumping rope snowman, I will give you a rematch!

Week 22: Welcome February!

In a blink of an eye, January is behind us.  February is busy month for holidays and month long celebrations.

Some important dates to note:

  • Feb 1:  Milo turns 1…we’ll celebrate with his visit on February 7.   More about this later in the week.
  • Feb 2:  Ground Hog’s Day and 100th Birthday for Grand Central Station
  • Feb 3:  Superintendent Nick Ceglarek’s 40th birthday (Doesn’t he look too young to be 40?)  If you want to give him a shout out, his email is:  nceglar@hpseagles.net   I know he would love to hear from his favorite audience…children!
  • Feb 12:  Lincoln’s Birthday
  • Feb 14: Valentine’s Day
  • Feb 18:  President’s Day

Month Long Celebrations

Most notable:  Black History Month:  The HISTORY Channel is my favorite go to learn about about and celebrate black history.

And…February is also the month to celebrate international friendship, pet ownership, potatoes, cherries, wild birds and embroidery.  It’s also the shortest month…and before we know it, we will be looking ahead to March.  So make the most of it!

A snap shot of our week is below.  We have a four day week…followed by a four day week!
