A most wonderful time of the year!

We are heading into our last week of school before the Christmas and New Year holidays arrive.   Throughout the week, classroom will be hosting holiday parties. Please be sure to check your child’s class blog for details about the day and time for these events.

This coming week we will be sending home the holiday performance DVD orders.  If you ordered one of these, look for this in your child’s backpack.

I want to wish all of you a wonderful holiday break with your family and friends.  It’s amazing to think that when we come back together in two weeks time, it will be a new year—2012!

Wishing you all the best for this holiday season.

Mrs. Reagan

HAPPY 11/11/11 Georgetown Parents!

NEWS FROM THE OFFICE……..  Well we did it… we survived Conference week!  Lots of long days, commotion and the Book Fair.  Whew!!  However, to top it all off we had a marvelous Friday with comfy, cozy day!!!  What a GREAT way to end our week, cold weather, a few snow flakes and comfy clothes!

Hold on tight parents, before we know it is going to be Thanksgiving Break and then….. Christmas Break.  Wow the year is flying by.  Just a few important dates to remember to put on your calendar….. November 23-25 NO SCHOOL,  November 28-December 2 our Holiday Shop will be happening AND December 1 will be our Holiday Program at Fairhaven Church.

A note from the office as a friendly reminder.  If you are dropping your students off in the morning please REMEMBER they need to walk around OUTSIDE the building to their playground.  Students are not allowed in the building before 8:45 unless accompanied by a adult.  There is supervision outside on the playgrounds and NOT in the school in the morning.  Please be aware that it is getting colder out and many kids try sneaking inside because they are cold, so make sure they are dressed appropriately in the morning when they are heading out for school.  Thanks for your help and consideration in this matter.

HOLIDAY PARADE…….  The Hudsonville Holiday Parade is coming to town.  It’s a wholesome atmosphere where families can celebrate the season close to home with easy, accessible parking.  Held on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at 10:00am, this annual event is a festive time that draws a big crowd.  Parade Route:  Highland Drive & 32nd Avenue, proceeding north on 32nd Ave to Central Blvd.  The parade ends at the fire station where the children can meet Santa and his live reindeer!  Everyone is invited for refreshments.

Happy first Friday of November Georgetown parents!

NEWS FROM THE OFFICE……..  Wow can you believe it…… we are in November already?!  We had a good week and we started off with a bang…..fall parties and we ended with a popcorn Friday!  What could be better?!

Just a reminder from the office to make sure you remember your conference times for next week.  Conferences will be held next Monday through Wednesday.  We appreciate your promptness and timeliness with these scheduled times as we have approximately 440 families that will be attending these.

One more reminder, please make sure you are sending in notes with your students for changes in their end of the day routines.   We seem to be interrupting class alot at the end of the day to give students a change in after school routines.  Thank you for your consideration in this matter.

Happy Friday Georgetown Parents!

NEWS FROM THE OFFICE….. Well we made it through our first week of MEAP testing and looking forward to only two days of testing next week.  Try and make sure your students are well rested and have a great breakfast to start their days next Tuesday and Wednesday.  There is a lot of new information in the “Blog Bits” this week so please make sure and soak it all in.

DISTRICT HOLIDAY PROGRAMS………. Attached is a letter from our Curriculum Director regarding the schedule for all HPS holiday programs. Georgetown’s holiday program will be held on December 1 at Fair Haven Church on the corner of Baldwin and 28nd Streets.   We will hold two back to back performances, one for PK-2 and Grades 3-5.  In the past, we rented Resurrection Life for this performance.  This facility size permitted us to hold one program.  However, the rental fee is cost prohibitive for our 2011-12 budget.  We look forward to showcasing our students vocal talents on December 1.  In November, details will be provided about the exact start times for the program.  PLEASE READ THE ATTACHED LETTER FROM THE CURRICULUM OFFICE …..  Letter-parents (1)
