Always Changing: 4th and 5th Grade Videos

Each spring, we are required to share information with our fourth and fifth grade students regarding Always Changingchanges in human development related to puberty.  These videos go through an extensive review process to make sure that the material is appropriate for the developmental age of the students and meet the state standards for our health curriculum.

The videos will be shown on April 1.  The students will be grouped as follows:

  • Fourth grade girls will view the video with Mrs. Boersma, Mrs. Jurewicz, and Mrs Reagan allowing time for Q & A following the viewing.
  • Fourth grade boys will view the video with Mr. Hahn and Mr. Gort, allowing time for Q & A following the viewing.
  • Fifth grade girls will view the video with fifth grade teachers, allowing time for Q & A following the viewing.
  • Fifth grade boys will view the video with Mr. Dalrymple and Mr. Kooiker,, allowing time for Q & A following the viewing.

If you would like to preview the videos, please visit the host P & G website which sponsors the curriculum.  At this location, you can examine the curriculum, view the video and also look for addition support if you would like to answer questions from your child at home.   As always, our preference is that all children feel comfortable talking with their parents about how their bodies are changing–and we will encourage them to talk with you if they have questions that cannot be addressed at school.

The website provides the answer to most questions that parents have regarding the videos.

If you DO NOT want your child to view the video with the grade level gender group,

please call or email your child’s teacher.

We will make arrangements for your child to be supervised in the office during the Always Changing curriculum program.
