Welcome Kindergarten Class of 2026

welcomeWe are welcoming 100 kindergarteners to Georgetown this fall.   This school year will lay the foundation for elementary and secondary education so that they can be proud graduates in 2026.

Our four kindergarten teachers have been working day and night to prepare the curriculum and classroom for the arrival of their very special learners. We are so excited to welcome your children to school.

Kindergarten Open House will be held on Tuesday, August 27 from 6:30 to 7:30 pm.  You and your child will have the opportunity to tour the building, classroom, playground and a big yellow school bus.

We would like every family to bring a donation of quarters (as many as you wish) to help us fund our Friday quarterPOPCORN Days.  These are made possible by parent volunteers — and the donations make it possible for us to purchase all the materials for the popcorn.  EVERY CHILD receives a bag one Friday a month!    A donation jug will be in the rotunda.

Also, if you would like to volunteer for classroom and school events this year, please complete this survey.  Volunteers are GOLD to us….and I want you to know that parent volunteers help us to build a warm, caring and supportive climate at Georgetown.  We want you to be involved in your child’s life at school…so please volunteer!

For those of you who have a child in grades 1-5, Open House will be held on August 28 (Wednesday) from 6:30 to 7:30 pm.  We will have our POPCORN QUARTER JUG in the rotunda…and we would love to have you complete the volunteer survey too!

I am very excited to meet all the new children and welcome all of our old friends back to school!

Our Final Week of School

It seems like I just finished composing the kick off update fro the 2012-13 school year.  The year has been jam packed with Parent Club Activities, memories of friendships formed and sustained and adventures in learning together.

Georgetown is a building of 50 + staff members who work collectively to create a calm, caring, safe and interesting learning community.  It has been a rich year and we are so very thankful to work with your children daily as teachers and mentors and caregivers.

Please take some time to look at a few of the photos I have taken throughout the year.  I am sure most teachers will also be highlighting the year with photo slideshows on class blogs as well.

We have four full days of school this week.  School is a full day on Thursday with dismissal at the normal time.  The entire staff will be wish the students happy summer with our traditional bus loop waving and cheering.

I will post an update next week with details about class lists for the 2013-14 school year…and of course, I will be updating the blog throughout the summer.

Here’s to a great last week!

Week 20: January Wrap Up

Chris Crowley and his beautiful daughter, Ellise.

This Saturday evening, our school Multi-Purpose Room was transformed into a winter wonderland for the PTC sponsored Daddy/Daughter Dance.  The room and surrounding halls were filled with beautiful daughters and handsome, proud dads having fun together dancing, posing for pictures in the photo booth, playing a scavenger hunt and much more.  It was an amazing night made possible by Amy McCormick with support from the PTC board and the many parents who donated items.

All of the PTC events highlighted on the blog are planned by the PTC board and organized by parents — all volunteer time.  The funding comes from your parent donations that are made through our once a year fundraiser, the fall WALK-A-THON.  Thank you this commitment.  The memories made by families at these events are priceless.

Below have posted the agenda for week ahead at Georgetown.  I can’t believe that there are only four days left in the month!  The week ahead is quiet — fourth grade swimming is done (allowing special times to return to normal) and no field trips on the calendar for other classes.

Have a great week…and drive safely if you are out on the roads tonight and tomorrow.

Mrs. Reagan

Mrs. Quigley’s Class Rides in Style

Mrs. Quigley’s class STRETCHED out in front of the limo!

Mrs. Quigley’s class had their WINNING WALK-A-THON LIMO ride on Thursday of this past week.

It was SO much fun to watch the second graders get into the limo, explore the limo and celebrate being the winner class.

Thank you PTC for making this prize possible.  It was a very classy way to get to the Pizza Ranch!
