Our 10th Annual Student Art Show is right around the corner! The show features art work created by Hudsonville 
students throughout our district, including all seven elementary schools, Baldwin and Riley Street Middle Schools, and Hudsonville High School. Over 600 works of art will be featured in the show, including 100 pieces from our Georgetown Elementary students. To view our Georgetown artist who have been selected, visit Mrs. Brouwers blog!
Here are the details about the district wide show:
During the show, area business owners are invited to participate in Hudsonville Schools’ “Art Around Town” program. This unique program allows businesses to lease and display professionally framed student artwork in their place of business for one year. The artwork is returned to the student at the end of the lease period. Information regarding the Art Around Town lease program is available at the show or by contacting Jason Meyer at JMeyer@hpseagles.net .
Our first KIDS ART SHOW was a tremendous success. We featured over 240 pieces of art work and hosted well over 300 people at the event. This event was sponsored by KIDS ART FAIRS. We were impressed by the the focus on featuring and appreciating artists and their work.
I did my very best to take a photo of every artist with their piece…but I know I missed some of you. It was such a busy night. Enjoy this video that captures the pride of each artist as they hold or stand next to their beautiful work of art!

Earlier this month, Mrs. Brouwer and I celebrated two our students, Shari Brouwer and Aubrey Buskard, because their works of art were selected for display in the 40th Annual World School Children’s Art Exhibition.
This week our artists, along with two artists from Bauer, were honored at our Board of Education Meeting. Each artist received their certificate from China as well as a beautiful mounted certificate from Mr. Ceglarek, superintendent, and our school board.
We are honored to be represented at this exhibition — and this says so much about the quality of our art instruction and the artistic talents and abilities that our students possess.

Our 2009 Spring Art Show continues through Thursday, April 30th!
Tonight, April 29th, we celebrate with our artists from Georgetown Elementary and Bauer Elementary. Stop by Park Elementary this evening, grab a bag of popcorn, and enjoy looking at over 900 pieces of fabulous artwork created by our Hudsonville Students in grades Pre-Kindergarten through 12!
We have had an incredible attendance so far at our art show – we saw 600 visitors on Monday night, and our clicker-counter stopped at 800 visitors on Tuesday evening!
Ninth Annual Student Art Show

Mark your calendars for our Ninth Annual Elementary Student Art Show! This will be held in the Park Elementary Community Room Monday, April 27 through Thursday, April 30th. The show is open daily from 9 AM – 3 PM.
Mrs. Brouwer, our incredible and wonderful art teacher, will host a special reception for our Georgetown Elementary artists on WEDNESDAY, APRIL 29 from 5:30 – 7:30 PM.
