Remember to Enroll for Kindergarten!

Kindergarten enrollment forms will be available in our school office. We encourage any family with a child kindergartenturning five years of age on or before December 1 of 2010 to enroll.  Please fill out the forms below and return to the office at anytime or drop them off at the March 9  Kindergarten Round-Up meeting.
  • Completed enrollment form K Registration
  • Copy of your child’s birth certificate (must be certified with a raised seal)
  • Health appraisal form which includes dates of immunizations and vision testing (this form must be turned in no later than August 27, 2010) Health Appraisal

Kindergarten Round-Up meetings will be held for parents on Tuesday, March 9.  The meeting will offer parents information in preparation of your child entering Kindergarten  Overview K current or Pre-Kindergarten Overview PK current in the Fall.  The locations and times of the meetings are as follows:

Alward Elementary – 10 a.m. OR 7 p.m.    (Georgetown parents who are not able to attend in the evening can attend the 10 am meeting at Alward.  The information is identical to the meeting held at 7 pm.)
Georgetown Elementary – 7 p.m. only

District-Wide Information for PK and K Enrollment

Kindergarten enrollment forms will be available at any of our Hudsonville Public School elementary buildings beginning January 25.  We encourage any family with a child turning five years of age on or before December 1 of 2010 to enroll.  Please fill out the forms included in the packet and return the completed information to any elementary school or at one of the Kindergarten Round-Up meetings.

Due to larger turnouts for our evening Round-Up meetings the past few years, we decided to offer a day time Round-Up meeting in three locations.  We encourage parents from other buildings to attend those locations if the day time meetings work best for you.  The same information will be given at each location.  Please drop off your completed enrollment information to your child’s school.  Screening is required for children turning 5 years old between June 1 – December 1, 2010.  Appointments can be scheduled when you turn in your child’s enrollment form.

PK and K Round Up: 2010

It is hard to believe that we are getting ready for our newest group of pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students.   It is time for us to get the word out about enrolling children for the 2010-1011 school year.  PK K

If you have a child that will be in PK or K next year, please mark your calendar for          March 9, 2010. There will be the option to attend a day time program at 10 am  (held at Alward, South or Jamestown).  The material will be the same for all schools, simply held at these locations for those that must attend during the day.

  • All schools will host evening Round Ups at 7 pm.
  • Georgetown’s meeting will be in the Multi-Purpose Room.

If you know a neighbor who has an upcoming PK or K child, please encourage them to complete the registration information and health appraisal form.  These forms are turned into the school office.

Holiday Program Performance: Grades PK and K

Featured below is an uploaded version of our PreK and K classes performing during our fourth annual Holiday Program on December 17, 2009. It is not the same high quality of the DVD which many of your have ordered, but it is still a nice way to share the incredible work done by our students and our music teachers, Mrs. Bretz and Mrs. Whitenight. The 3rd grade classrooms featured: Mrs. Estefan, Mrs. Bohl, Mrs. Weiss, and Mrs. Nederveld. I hope you enjoy this video!

PK/K Round Up, 2009

It is hard to believe that we are thinking ahead to our our 2009 pre-kindergarten (PK) and kindergarten (K)  children!  In the world of scheduling, we must begin to plan and prepare for our newest and brightest group.   If you have an incoming PK and K child, please mark your calendars for these dates:

March 17, 2009:  PK/K Round Up – Information about the PK/K enrollment, screening and school procedures.  This will be held in the Georgetown Multi-Purpose Room at 10 am and 7 pm.  Select one time to attend; the information is simply repeated both times.

Screening for PK/K will be held on March 18, 19, 20 and 24.  The screening takes approximately 30 minutes.  When you turn in your registration for PK/K, you will schedule the screening time.  It is your option to have your child screened.  If you feel that your child is ready for K, you do not need to have the screening done.  If you would like more information to help you decide, schedule the screening.  Results are shared at the time of the screening.

Registrations for PK/K are available in the school office beginning in January.
