Watch Polar Bear Migration

Many of us will never have the opportunity to see a polar bear outside of the zoo.  Thanks to a webcam and a connection to the internet, we can now watch the migration of polar bears from the comfort of our own smart phone or computer location.

The polar bear webcam will be up and running through the end of the month.

Some tidbits about the project are below.  You can find out more by visiting DISCOVER NEWS: POLAR BEAR MIGRATION

  • An estimated 1,000 polar bears linger outside the Canadian town of Churchill, Manitoba waiting for the Hudson Bay to freeze over around this time, every year.
  • Tourists flock to the town to see them.
  • But this year, cameras turned on the polar bears are also bringing a front row view of their annual migration to anyone with an Internet connection.
