Have you visited the Kahn Academy?

kahn 1If you have not visited the KAHN ACADEMY as a resource for homework support or your own self-driven learning.  You can also watch Salman Khan, the creator featured on a TED TALK, share  how and why he created the remarkable Khan Academy, a carefully structured series of educational videos offering complete curricula in math and, now, other subjects.  He shows the power of interactive exercises — and calls for teachers to consider flipping the traditional classroom script — give students video lectures to watch at home, and do you “homework” in the classroom with the teacher available to help.

Awesome…It’s All Around Us!

I received an awesome thank you gift this year:  The Book of Awesome.    This book helps to remind me of all the wonderful small things that make my days better–if I am reminded to look for them.

The author of this book, Neil Pasricha, began his writing with a blog which led to an award and this led to the book.   He recently spoke at the Toronto TED TALK, sharing his touching story behind his collection of all things awesome.

Neil shares the three A’s that helped him to write this book…and shift his perspective from one of despair to hope. I would like to encourage you to set aside a few minutes to watch this positive awesome talk!

After you watch this, I think you will feel much like I did:   We are surrounded by awesome people and events and simple things each and every day!  We simply have to make time to look for them.
