BLOG BITS 9/16/11

NEWS FROM THE OFFICE……. Holy Toledo, can you believe we are already done with two weeks of school?!  Well I am here to tell you we are ready for week 3!  Things are running smooth and we are feeling like we are a well oiled machine once again.  (Never any doubts in our minds of course!).

PICTURE DAY……  is MONDAY, September 19 for students other  than Tuesday/Thursday  PK/Kindergartners.  Tuesday/Thursday students will have their pictures taken on TUESDAY, September 20.

MEDICATIONS…… Thanks to all parents who have turned in their student’s medications and forms.  We are still waiting for a few to be returned and if parents could get those in ASAP as we need to have the medication accessible if the student needs it and we MUST have the medication form ALSO to administer the medication.  Thanks for you help in this matter.

NOTES ABOUT DAILY CHANGES…….Parents we cannot STRESS enough the importance of sending notes with your children in regards to CHANGES at the END of the day.  It may seem like it is a hassle to send a note in the am, but already in the first two weeks of school we have been needing to INTERRUPT classes frequently  with changes for students at the end of the day.  We DO REALIZE there are some instances where you are not aware of changes due to unexpected appts and such, and will be happy to let the teachers/students know for these.  Thank you for your understanding in this matter.

LUNCH INFORMATION…….  Welcome to the 2011-2012 school year.  Just a reminder that starting this year, the elementary hot lunch menus will be emailed to you once a month through the district’s School Messenger system.  We do not have the ability to remove individual emails from this system so please feel free to just delete this message each month if you do not want to see the menu.  Hard copies are available at the buildings if you would like one. If you want to print the menu without the colored graphics, please go to our webpage at to find a less ink version of the menu.  Nutritional information on all of our menus items is also available on our webpage.

Breakfast and lunch will be offered on the first day of school (Tuesday September 6) at all buildings.  If you do not want your child to have access to the lunch program, please contact the food service office at 457-2400 or email and ask to have your child’s lunch cards pulled.  Please feel free to contact the food service office if you have any questions otherwise our webpage has a lot of valuable information that may help answer any questions.
I hope you have a great start to the new school year and thank you for your business.
