HAPPY FRIDAY GEORGETOWN PARENTS!!

NEWS FROM THE OFFICE…….  Well as much as I would like to say the stomach virus has passed……. it has NOT!!!  We have had a lot of it again here this week at school.  We have sent many students home each day that have come down with it.  So with that being said,  PLEASE make sure you are washing your hands and sanitizing things!!  Remember too if your student has been ill with the stomach flu to not send them back to school until they have been sympton FREE for 24 hours.  Thanks for this!!  : )

ATTENTION ALL 4th GRADERS/PARENTS OF 4th GRADERS……  ONE MORE WEEK OF SWIMMING.  Everyday, January 23 – 27 the 4th graders will be going to the High School for swimming lessons.  REMEMBER to send swim suits/towels OR the “NEEDED” essentials to change into after swimming if your student wears their suit under their clothes in morning.  Thank you, this saves the office ALOT of phone calls home  : )

5TH GRADE NEWS………  Immunization Requirements for 2012-2013 School Year ~ All incoming 6th graders (current 5th grade students) will have the immunization requirements as stated below:

1.  Two doses of Varicella vaccine or have a history of having chickenpox.
2.  One dose of meningococcal vaccine. (Students must be 11 yrs old before getting this dose)
3.  One dose of tetanus/diphtheria/acellular pertussis (Tdap) (if 5 years or more have passed since last dose of tetanus/diphtheria vaccine – DTaP, Td or DT).

If your child needs immunizations, please make work of completing these immunizations during the 5th grade school year. Doing so will be a great help to the Middle School Secretaries who need to check for immunization compliance for every 6th grade student in our district.

Please be advised that any child who has not had all of his/her immunizations will not be allowed to start 6th grade.
