Teachers are Learners, too!

I attended MACUL 2012 for two days last week with Mrs. Speidel, Mrs. Reifschneider, Mrs. Bast, Mrs. Iwema and Mrs. Wert.  As a team, we were completing our final year as MI CHAMPIONS Grant Participants.  We were also joined by Mr. Bowen, Mrs. Kuieck and Mrs. Quigley.  By learning together at MACUL, much of our conversation was about finding tools that increase learning through increased learner engagement.  By the end of the two days, all of us agreed our brains hurt (in a good way) from learning and sharing!

The two year grant provided us with two years MACUL membership, including admission to the annual conference.  As learners, we searched for tools to increase learner engagement and improve learning.

Much of what we have learned has been integrated into our classrooms through applications for the ipad, devices for increasing learner engagement (ipads, scribe tools, NOOK readers and a variety of other text to speech tools).  It has been an incredible experience and we feel that we have benefitted professionally in immeasurable ways.

If you would like to learn about MACUL and all that was offered, you can do so in the following ways:

One of my favorite presenters is always Leslie Fisher.  She pushes me to work harder at searching for web 2.0 tools that improve teaching and learning, organizing my workflow, improving my digital photography skills and much more!
