Week 35: May 18-22

We are officially into the HOME RUN STRETCH of the school year.  We have three weeks left to the school year — and this works out to 13.5 days of school.  In addition to the business of completing learning units and assessments at each grade, there are many grade level and classroom events taking place.  Please stay connect with the class blogs for details for events that impact your child.

Liverpool emblemBeginning Monday, we will host student teachers from Hope Liverpool University.  Hope College, (Holland, Michigan) participates in an exchange program with Hope-Liverpool University (Liverpool, England).  As part of their program, they spend two weeks paired with gift Georgetown teachers.  The goal of the program is to help these future teachers experience global teaching and learning settings and through that experience understand the commonalities and differences in helping all learners to achieve.  We will share more about them once they arrive on Monday.

Our 3rd Graders take the M-STEP test on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of this week. They will be testing from 9-11:30 all three days.  They will have two days of testing the following week, 5/27 and 5/28 (9-11:30 am on both days).

Our Fifth Graders head to Camp Pinewood on Wednesday for a 3-day one-of-a-kind bonding experience.  We are hoping for perfect camping weather for them and their 5th grade friends from Bauer Elementary.

dressFriday (May 22) is school wide RED WHITE and BLUE day in honor of the upcoming Memorial Weekend.   Have a wonderful week…and a fabulous Memorial Day Weekend.
