News from the Office….

What a beautiful fall we are having!! I hope this stays around for a while!! The kids are all doing so well with their daily routines and are right back into the swing of things!! We had a couple big things going on this week. Picture day was Thursday and if you missed picture day, the make-up day is on Thursday, October 27. You can also order online at www.geskusphoto.com/fallorders and you will need our school web code which is 264BFISDGVNHA.

The other big thing was our Walk A Thon organized by the PTC! A HUGE thank you to all who participated! The kids always have a great time doing this !! Thank you to all who volunteered and helped make this event possible! We couldn’t do it without you!!

The walk a thon money is being counted and we will be announcing winners soon!!!

Oct. 4 and 5 – Jet’s Pizza Nights!! Make it an easy dinner night AND earn money for Georgetown! Jet’s will donate a portion of the proceeds back to Georgetown and they will also give the winning class a pizza party so tell them your child’s name when you are ordering.

Oct. 7 – Popcorn Friday! Thank you for your donations at open houses for popcorn Fridays!

Music News…. CHANGE OF DATE FOR THE HOLIDAY PROGRAM!!music

Please note that due to a conflict with the middle school holiday band concert, the Georgetown Holiday Program has been rescheduled to December 13.  The students have already begun learning their songs and are so excited to perform for you!  More details will come home the beginning of December.  Thank you!

OCTOBER 25 is the race date. Look for Turkey MON Trot registration forms to be coming home Friday!  Forms are due back to Mrs. Nienhuis or Mrs. VanKoevering by Oct. 7

• Baton Twirling Classes

Dates: Tuesdays, beginning September 27, 2016 and ending December 20, 2016

Times: Ages 4-7, 6:15-7:00 p.m.   Ages 8-16, 7:00-7:45 p.m.baton-twirling

Registration: On September 27, 2016 at the first class

Location: The Hall at Overisel Reformed Church, 4201 47th Street, Holland, Michigan, 49423

Cost: $7/week to be paid at each class.  $5 registration fee to be paid at first class.  Batons will be available for purchase at class for $26.  Payment plans available.

Trophies, medals, and ribbons available to earn!  There is the opportunity to be in parades and a competition!

Free fall festival in Hudsonville Saturday, Ocotber 15 from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm located at Gemmen’s Home and Hardware (3488 Kelly Street) and Farmers Co-op (3302 Prospect street). There are many different events to do including pumpkin carving, pumpkin races, the critter barn, cider and donuts, a bounce house, pony rides, and much much more!!! HEF Fun Fest Fundraiser…
eagle headHomecoming Football Game October 7. Wear your BLUE and YELLOW EAGLE SPIRIT gear to school that day!!! The super fans will make a visit to Georgetown during the day to get everyone pumped up for the big game!!
There will be fun games and activities for the kids to do at the football stadium from 5:00 – 6:30. Come and check out the dunk tanks and get some ice cream and just have fun!! See this flyer for more details!! hef-poster

Community Open House & Dedication Ceremony for South Elementary 

The community is invited to attend an open house to tour South Elementary (4900 40th Avenue) on October 10 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Guided tours will be available or guests are welcome to walk through the spectacular spaces at their leisure. There will be a dedication ceremony at 6:00 p.m
