Happy Friday Georgetown Parents!!pump thumbs up

NEWS FROM THE OFFICE………. It is hard to believe but we are already in the end of October!!  SCARY! The MEAP testing is all done and they have been sent back for the official scoring.  I think the students AND the teachers are relieved this is over for another year!!  The students did a great job.  Hold on tight for a very busy week next week.  It starts MONDAY with the TURKEY TROT, WEDNESDAY with the COIN WAR CHALLENGE/UNIVERSITY APPAREL and THURSDAY with HALLOWEEN PARTIES!!  It will be a whirlwind and thank goodness we will have FRIDAY OFF to regroup after the busy week!  : )

SNOW DAY PROCEDURE FOR HOT LUNCH……….. With snow just around the corner, the food service program would like to remind parents and students about what will happen if school is closed due to weather. If the district is closed, the menu that was supposed to be served on the snow day will be moved to the next school day.  An example: if school is canceled on Tuesday due to weather, Tuesday’s menu will be served on Wednesday and the menu that was scheduled for Wednesday will be completely canceled.  Because of our computer lunch account system, there will be no need to issue credits and your student will still be able to order a lunch if they need one. The only exception to this policy is if school is canceled on Friday. In this case, Friday’s menu will be completely canceled and we will continue with the regular menu on Monday.  Information on what menu will be served on the day you return will be available on Twitter or the foodservice web page at www.jenhudfood.org. Please feel free to contact the food service department at 457-2400 if you have any questions or are unsure of what the menu will be. Thank you! ~ Stacey L. Wykoski, Food Service Director.

Happy Friday Georgetown Parents!!

NEWS FROM THE OFFICE……….  Well can you believe it……. we have just finished our second week of school.  Some of the littler ones did notice it was a 5 day week.  They started getting a bit more tired by Thursday.  It is hard work coming to school 5 days a week!!  : )  The first two weeks here have gone exceptionally well.  We here in the office believe it is the smoothest start to the school year ever!  Way to go parents and students.  : )

SCHOOL PICTURES…….  Remember these are MONDAY!!!   Make sure the teeth are brushed and sparkly white and we are in our best attire  : )

CIRCLE DRIVE IN FRONT OF SCHOOL……… We apologize for any inconvenience this may be causing, but we no longer have enough room in our back bus loop!  Therefor this year we are going to be using the front circle drive as our second bus loop.  This means that you can no longer park here at the START or END of the school day.  The staff will be parking in the large lot so there should be ample parking in the small lot by the Kindergarten playground.  Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.  : )

SNACKS……… We are no longer able to get “extra” snacks from the local food pantry that was assisting us with this.  With that being said we are asking parents to make sure that your student comes to school each day with a snack.  Maybe even put a few extra ones in the backpack so if you or your student happens to forget to pack one they have an extra “stash” in their backpack.  One more helpful hint….. you can always pack snacks in the backpacks the night before.  : )  Thanks for the understanding in this matter.

NEW BUS RULES………  As you all should be aware…… there is a new transportation policy in affect this year and will continue to be a transportation policy in the future.  Students that require a BUS CHANGE for any reason must have a request put in to the Transportation Dept. by 10:00 AM the day of the change.  Parents will be notified by 1:00 PM  if the change was approved or denied.  Transportation will notify the school of the change.  DO NOT CALL THE SCHOOL OFFICE……. IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS PLEASE CONTACT TRANSPORTATION AT 669-7757.  You may FAX, SUBMIT ONLINE, or SCAN AND EMAIL the Bus Pass to Transportation.  ONLINE BUS PASS   PRINTABLE FORM TO FAX   (Transportation’s fax # 669-4876)  Scan or email the bus pass to Jane Bykerk at jbykerk@hpseagles.net   Thank you for your cooperation and patience with this new policy.  : )

Happy Friday afternoon Georgetown Parents!

NEWS FROM THE OFFICE………. We sure hope everyone enjoyed their winter break!  I know all of us here did.  It’s going to be tough, but next we are going to have our first 5 DAY WEEK that we have had in about a month!  Thank you snow days and winter break!  : )  Things went very smoothly this week at school and how could it have ended any better than with popcorn and Milo?!

YEARBOOKS……. if you did not order one for your student (you would have ordered it when you ordered pictures) we do a few extras for sale here in the office.  They are $10 each.  You may pay with a check, just make it payable to “Georgetown PTC”.  Thank you.  These extras will be available on a first come, first serve basis and we will not hold them.  Students may bring the money to the office.  : )

KINDERGARTEN PACKETS/ROUND UP………..  We now have Kindergarten packets available in the office to pick up.  Kindergarten Round Up will be held atGeorgetown on Tuesday, February 26 at 7pm.  Please remember that it is NOT a first come/first serve basis as far as turning in your registrations.  We will not be holding PK at Georgetown next year.  Our students that request PK will be going to Bauer.  Your child should be 5 on or before NOVEMBER 1 this year to enter EITHER PK or Kindergarten.  IF your child turns 5 between NOVEMBER 2 AND DECEMBER 1you will need to fill out a WAIVER in order for them to attend PK or K.  These WAIVERS will be attached to the Kindergarten registrations.  You ONLY need to fill out the waiver if your child turns 5 BETWEEN the dates of NOVEMBER 2 AND DECEMBER 1, 2013.
