A Thank You from the Thatchers

We, the parents and staff of Georgetown, received a touching thank you note from John and Deb Thatcher. They wanted to express their gratitude for the $2,000 we raised toward Grace Thatcher’s Scholarship Fund. The card is posted below.  Thank you to all of you who participated in the Time & Talent Auction, and the many other fundraising we have had in memory of Grace.

“Dear Georgetown Staff, Parents and Students,   Thank you so much for the $2,000 donation to Grace’s Scholarship Fund.  It meant so much to us.  At this point we have raised a total of $17,600 from this one event.  This is a wonderful tribute in Grace’s memory.  Much Affection, John and Deb Thatcher.”

A Celebration of our Holiday Program

Thank you to everyone who helped to make our holiday program such a tremendous success!  Our music teachers, Mrs. Amber Bretz, Miss Abby Whitenight and Miss McCulloch worked with the students to create a magical and memorable performance.  Also, thank you to Amanda Troyer for creating the video slide show of our students to entertain the audience in between sets. If you would like a DVD copy of the program, send this form to the office: holiday-dvd

To view the most talented collection of students in this hemisphere (yes, I am biased), check out this slideshow!

Thanksgiving Survey Results

I started a new just for fun feature on our site…SURVEYS!  This is a great way for us to learn about one another and a cool tool to share with our children.

The results of our Thanksgiving Survey have been tabulated.  We had 56 people respond to the survey. Results below:

I have added a NEW FAMILY survey to our FAMILY BLOG site.  Once the results are completed, these will be shared to help us get to know one another (Georgetown Families and Raey Guang Families).

If you are interested in being a “family penpal blogger” complete the survey form below. So far, we have 10 families, and we are in need of 40.

Wintery Photo of Georgetown

I thought I would update the photo of our school on the front page of our blog.  This will help our friends in P’ing Tung, Taiwan to visualize our snowy weather.  If you peak at the weather in Taiwan right now (see upper right tab at the top of this page), you will see that our sister school lies in the Tropic of Cancer–which means it does not snow there!

Another reason for updating the picture is that the spring like picture was driving our trepid and fastidious custodian, Mr. Rob, CRAZY!   He did not like the fact that I posted a photo in which the lawn was not mowed.   Oh how we love Mr. Rob and the great pride he takes in keeping our building clean, tidy and just right for all of us.  He is one of a kind.  Thank you, Mr. Rob, for all you do!
