Our Fall Appleseed

Appleseed is our district newsletter.  Each month, Superintendent Nick Ceglarek opens with a message to parents and the community.  This is followed by short articles featuring student learning in our eleven buildings across the district.

Georgetown’s feature article highlights our recycling of plastics and paper.

The Appleseed will be arriving in your advance newspaper this week.  You can also view this edition here:  Appleseed Oct/Nov

Long Range Planning: Hudsonville Public Schools

From the Superintendent’s Office:

District Long Range Planning

Throughout the 2010-2011 school year, Hudsonville Public School staff will be gathering community data to help guide the district’s long range strategic plan. Parents, students, and community residents may be asked to participate in focus groups and surveys. The purpose of this community research is to identify Hudsonville Public Schools strengths and areas of focus.

Gathering the input of our community will also make certain the district core mission continues to be aligned with our greater community.

More information regarding this process can be found at our district’s website. Thank you in advanced for your assistance in this process.

Mr. Nicholas Ceglarek, Superintendent

Welcome to our New Superintendent!

We would like to extend a warm welcome to our new superintendent, Nick Ceglarek.  He has been the superintendent of Fruitport Community Schools for the past five years.  An article featured in the Muskegon Chronicle outlines Mr. Ceglarek’s successes during his time with the Fruitport Community School District.

Mr. Ceglarek will be replacing Roxanne DeWeerd, our superintendent for the past eight years.  Mrs. DeWeerd ended her career in Hudsonville as the Michigan Superintendent of the Year! This was an incredible honor and one that she deserved fully.  Mrs. DeWeerd served as our leader for all of us–setting progressive goals that focused on student learning.  To thank her for all that she has done, Georgetown created a tribute video which was shared at our April 2009 PTC meeting.

We wish Mrs. DeWeerd a happy, adventure filled retirement and at the same time welcome Mr. Ceglarek to our district filled with caring parents, bright students, progressive teachers and administrators, and a supportive community.
