A SPECIAL GEORGETOWN FAMILY

Dear Georgetown Families:

As many of you are aware, one of our own, The Grooms/DeRouin family experienced a tragedy.  Their home was badly damaged by a fire on Friday.  Thankfully, everyone is safe.

Many of you have expressed a desire to help the Grooms/DeRouin family.  They are a wonderful family, with three children and a baby due anyday!!!  : )

The Georgetown PTC will be accepting monetary donations.  If you would like to contribute, please send either cash or check (payable to: Georgetown PTC) in an envelope marked: “Family Donation”.

Any amount will be more than welcome! We are asking for the donations to be in the office by Monday, February 28th in hopes of the family to receive it soon for their needs.

We will inform everyone of the final dollar amount raised for our family.

Thank you, as always for your continued support of our school and community.

Why?

Every parent can understand the initial amazement of the first time your child asks, “Why?”  as well as the feelings of frustration with the inability to respond with a reasonable answer.  There are many websites that have been designed to help parents and teachers answer these ‘why’ questions.   I have chosen to share four sites that have been recommended to me by a teacher/blogger that I follow on a regular basis, Richard Byrne:  Free Technology for Teachers.

These sites are sure to help you answer questions and energize your own learning curve at the same time!

Hope your summer is going well!

Thanksgiving Survey Results

I started a new just for fun feature on our site…SURVEYS!  This is a great way for us to learn about one another and a cool tool to share with our children.

The results of our Thanksgiving Survey have been tabulated.  We had 56 people respond to the survey. Results below:

I have added a NEW FAMILY survey to our FAMILY BLOG site.  Once the results are completed, these will be shared to help us get to know one another (Georgetown Families and Raey Guang Families).

If you are interested in being a “family penpal blogger” complete the survey form below. So far, we have 10 families, and we are in need of 40.
