Final Principal of the Day Blog Post

Principal of the Day

When my class found out I was going to be principal of the day,  some of them begged me to give them a detention.  I told Mrs. Reagan this.  So, after lunch I called into my classroom from the principal’s office.  I asked Miss VanArkel to have all students who wanted a detention to raise their        hands.det 2detMiss VanArkel counted and told me that 19 kids wanted detention.  I then announced:  For those who want detention, you must put your heads down and be quiet for 5 minutes. I heard a big groan!

My final announcement of the day is thanks to Mr. Hahn.  He is the school psychologist who was in one ofMR. hahn the meetings with me and Mrs. Reagan.  He asked me if I knew it was Pac Man’s 30th Anniversary today.  Mr. Hahn thought I should make an announcement.  Mrs. Reagan thought it would be a good idea…at the END OF THE DAY not the middle of the day.

Check out my camp video!

DSC05908It’s me, Matthew Lawrence again.  Principal of the Day.  I created this video of camp activities to share with you.  Mrs. Reagan took the pictures.  I imported them to animoto.  I also created two videos that show how a trust activity at Camp Pinewood looks like.  It took us a while to figure out how to import theses.

CAMP VIDEOS OF TRUST ACTIVITIES:

There are also 2 videos of a trust activity: GROUP 1 (first try)

This is 2nd video –a more trustful group.

Enjoy!

Friday update from Mr. Lawrence

I would like to introduce myself. My name is Matthew Lawrence and I won principal for half the day. I was the top bidder for the silent auction for this item.  (THANKS MOM AND DAD!)

Please know that the fourth graders got of on their field trip. Because of the rain we had to make arrangements for them to go to a Youth Group Activity Center at Christ Memorial Church.  It was a crazy start to the day, but we all worked together to figure it out.

Mrs. Reagan had me introduce myself to the school at 9:15.  I used the school intercom service for this.  I signed all the purchase requisitions, uploaded camp photos (Mrs. Reagan visited yesterday) and learned how to use the 2 way radio.

At 10:10, I called into Miss VanArkel’s classroom to call a 1o minute indoor recess.  I figured that if I am a third grader in this room and the principal, that the class should have some fun, too.

I have to now go to put postings for new teaching positions on the staff board.  None of these are for our school, but they have to be posted at all the schools.

Have a good day and Happy Friday!

Mr.  Lawrence
