We have a busy week ahead with Talent Show rehearsals, completion of grades 3 & 5 COGAT testing, K Screening, Spring Book Fair, Fourth Grade Lansing Trip and MORE!
The Book Fair will be held in the Sensory Motor Room, located on the Early Childhood Wing.
The PK/K Screening will be held in the Media Center.

The Round Up Meeting for our newest group of pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students takes place 
March 8. This is an opportunity for parents to find out about the district PK and K programs and enroll their child for the 2011-12 school year.
Georgetown will hold it’s meeting at 7 pm in the Multi-Purpose Room. There will be the option to attend a day time program at 10 am (held at Alward or South. The material will be the same for all schools, simply held at these locations for those that must attend during the day.
If you know a neighbor who has an upcoming PK or K child, please encourage them to attend the meeting. For those who cannot attend, the materials for registration can be found on live links below.

CURRICULUM PROGRAM INFORMATION
If your child needs to be screened to help you determine the best placement, PK or K, you will be able to sign up for a screening time at Round Up. The screenings will be held at Georgetown on March 15 and 16.

Kindergarten Round-Up meetings will be held for parents on Tuesday, March 9. The meeting will offer parents information in preparation of your child entering Kindergarten Overview K current or Pre-Kindergarten Overview PK current in the Fall. The locations and times of the meetings are as follows:
Alward Elementary – 10 a.m. OR 7 p.m.
Bauer Elementary – 7 p.m. only
Georgetown Elementary – 7 p.m. only
Forest Grove Elementary – 7 p.m. only
Jamestown Elementary – 10 a.m. OR 7 p.m.
Park Elementary – 7 p.m. only
South Elementary – 10 a.m. OR 7 p.m.
Due to larger turnouts for our evening Round-Up meetings the past few years, we decided to offer a day time Round-Up meeting in three locations. We encourage parents from other buildings to attend those locations if the day time meetings work best for you. The same information will be given at each location. Please drop off your completed enrollment information to your child’s school. Screening is required for children turning 5 years old between June 1 – December 1, 2010. Appointments can be scheduled when you turn in your child’s enrollment form.

INFORMATION ABOUT SCREENING (Held on March 16 and 17) AND CURRICULUM PROGRAMS

It is hard to believe that we are thinking ahead to our our 2009 pre-kindergarten (PK) and kindergarten (K) children! In the world of scheduling, we must begin to plan and prepare for our newest and brightest group. If you have an incoming PK and K child, please mark your calendars for these dates:
March 17, 2009: PK/K Round Up – Information about the PK/K enrollment, screening and school procedures. This will be held in the Georgetown Multi-Purpose Room at 10 am and 7 pm. Select one time to attend; the information is simply repeated both times.
Screening for PK/K will be held on March 18, 19, 20 and 24. The screening takes approximately 30 minutes. When you turn in your registration for PK/K, you will schedule the screening time. It is your option to have your child screened. If you feel that your child is ready for K, you do not need to have the screening done. If you would like more information to help you decide, schedule the screening. Results are shared at the time of the screening.
Registrations for PK/K are available in the school office beginning in January.
