Happy first Friday of November Georgetown parents!
NEWS FROM THE OFFICE…….. Wow can you believe it…… we are in November already?! We had a good week and we started off with a bang…..fall parties and we ended with a popcorn Friday! What could be better?!
Just a reminder from the office to make sure you remember your conference times for next week. Conferences will be held next Monday through Wednesday. We appreciate your promptness and timeliness with these scheduled times as we have approximately 440 families that will be attending these.
One more reminder, please make sure you are sending in notes with your students for changes in their end of the day routines. We seem to be interrupting class alot at the end of the day to give students a change in after school routines. Thank you for your consideration in this matter.
LUNCH INFORMATION……… Please see the attached flier that is the NOVEMBER lunch menu….. november 2011 hud elem – less ink
HOLIDAY PARADE……. The Hudsonville Holiday Parade is coming to town. It’s a wholesome atmosphere where families can celebrate the season close to home with easy, accessible parking. Held on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at 10:00am, this annual event is a festive time that draws a big crowd. Parade Route: Highland Drive & 32nd Avenue, proceeding north on 32nd Ave to Central Blvd. The parade ends at the fire station where the children can meet Santa and his live reindeer! Everyone is invited for refreshments.
DISTRICT HOLIDAY PROGRAMS………. Attached is a letter from our Curriculum Director regarding the schedule for all HPS holiday programs. Georgetown’s holiday program will be held on December 1 at Fair Haven Church on the corner of Baldwin and 28nd Streets. We will hold two back to back performances, one for PK-2 and Grades 3-5. In the past, we rented Resurrection Life for this performance. This facility size permitted us to hold one program. However, the rental fee is cost prohibitive for our 2011-12 budget. We look forward to showcasing our students vocal talents on December 1. In November, details will be provided about the exact start times for the program. PLEASE READ THE ATTACHED LETTER FROM THE CURRICULUM OFFICE ….. Letter-parents (1)
SNOW DAY PROCEDURES FOR LUNCH…… With snow just around the corner, the food service program would like to remind parents and students about what will happen if school is closed due to weather. If the district is closed, the menu that was supposed to be served on the snow day will be moved to the next school day. An example: if school is canceled on Tuesday due to weather, Tuesday’s menu will be served on Wednesday and the menu that was
scheduled for Wednesday will be completely canceled. Because of our computer lunch account system, there will be no need to issue credits and your student will still be able to order a lunch if they need one. The only exception to this policy is if school is canceled on Friday. In this case, Friday’s
menu will be completely canceled and we will continue with the regular menu on Monday. Information on what menu will be served on the day you return will be available on Twitter or the foodservice web page at www.jenhudfood.org. Please feel free to contact the food service department at 457-2400 if you
have any questions or are unsure of what the menu will be. Thank you! -Stacey L. Wykoski, Food Service Director
