This past Friday, we wore RED, WHITE and BLUE to honor our country and all those who serve and have served in the armed services. These heroic people protect our country close to home and abroad with honor and duty.

Memorial Day also serves as a calendar marker for the “unofficial” start to summer. Many families hold picnics with family and friends, celebrating the end to cold weather and the beginning of beautiful warm Michigan summer days. Summer for us OFFICIALLY begins nice days from now, June 5 at 1:00 pm — dismissal time for the last day of school.
I hope you have a great Memorial Day!
