Kindergartener’s First Day

If you have a pre-kindergartener or kindergartener starting school this year, please keep in mind that the start dates are as follows:

  • Tuesday/Thursday Alternating Friday:  September 8, 2009  (Grades 1-5 begin on this day also)
  • Monday/Wednesday Alternating Friday:  September 9, 2009

Your child can ride the bus to school on the first day or ride in the car.  I am aware that the Appleseed communication encourages parents to provide car transportation for PreK and K students on the first day of school, but this is your choice as a parent.

Our PreK and K Open Houses will be held on September 1, 2009.  This is geared toward parents attending with their PK/K child.

  • Mrs. Estefan and Mrs. Weiss  and Mrs. Bohl’s MW will hold their open houses from 5:30 to 6:15 pm.
  • Mrs. Bohl’s TTH and Mrs. Nederveld will hold their open houses from 6:30 to 7:15 pm.

The alternating day Friday schedule for this year can be found here:  PK/K FRIDAYs

School Hours and other schedules can be found:  HOURS and   SCHEDULES

Report Cards & Class Lists

Your child’s end of the year report card should arrive in the mail by Friday, June 12.  All PK-Grade 5 report cards were placed in the mail at the Hudsonville post office on Monday, June 8.  Please let us know if you do not receive your child’s report card.

Also, class lists will be posted on Monday, June 15.  These will be posted on the windows of the Multi-Purpose Room.

Our teaching staff for the upcoming school year will involve a few changes.  Mrs. Karen Weiss will be joining our kindergarten teaching team, teaching on M/W and alternating Fridays.  Mrs. Huizenga will be moving to 2nd grade and Mr. Bowen will be moving to 3rd grade.  All other teaching staff will be teaching the same grades as this past year.

Thank you again for your wonderful support this past school year.  We could not do all that we do without YOU!

More updates will be coming throughout the coming weeks.  Until then, stay warm–and let’s hope summer weather arrives sooner rather than later.
