News from the office….
Welcome Back Georgetown families!!! It’s good to be back into the swing of things and good to see everyone again!! We are busy learning routines and schedules and getting back into the groove!! Parents this is a reminder that if you have to change how your child is getting home, PLEASE send a dated note to the teacher. That is a CRAZY part of the day for teachers and it is super helpful to have that note as a reminder!! Also keeping it as consistent as possible is helpful to not only the teachers , but the kids as well.
If you have not turned in the paperwork you received at the open house, please turn that in as soon as possible. If we have not received it by next week, we will send it home again for you to fill out. Thanks and have a great weekend!!!
Opportunity for Hudsonville Elementary Students….
For the first time, Diane Scott and I would like to invite Hudsonville elementary students to audition to be part of an elementary chorus to participate in our upcoming fall production of Elf the Musical Jr.! The musical is based upon the wildly popular holiday movie starring Will Ferrell and is the perfect show to open the new auditorium and welcome the holiday season. Students will be asked to sing and perform simple choreography.Elementary student auditions are on Saturday, September 26 in the Baldwin Street Middle School Choir Room. A link is provided in the PDF that will take parents to the sign up for audition times. All students MUST sign up for an audition through the website.Students in Pre-K through 5th grade are welcome! Parents will be expected to volunteer to chaperon rehearsals and will need to provide all transportation. is sponsoring a Beach Cleanup on Saturday, Sept 19 from 9 – 12 at Holland State Park. This is an open event and anyone can come participate. Registration is through http://www.
greatlakesadopt.org/. Look for us on the list and sign up! We are hoping to get a good 
group from Hudsonville Public Schools! The garbage you collect is categorized and weighed. It then becomes part of an inventory for the entire Great Lakes region. MOBILE FOOD DISTRIBUTIONSaturday, October 3, 2015
10:00 am to NoonHager Park Church is partnering with Feeding America West Michigan to provide a Mobile Food Distribution. The food distribution will take place at Hager Park Church’s parking lot, located at 2635 Bauer Road in Jenison. Sign-in is required, although the food is available to anyone that needs it. There will be a large assortment of food, consisting of fresh seasonal produce and other high quality grocery items.

Pool and Fitness Room Update: The Hudsonville High School pool renovations and improvements are making steady progress. We look forward to re-opening our community spaces after the Labor Day weekend. Our September calendar will be a bit different than that of the rest of the year due to construction and availability concerns. We will post the most up to date schedule the first week of September to inform patrons of our schedule for September and beyond when a better construction timeline is issued to the school for completion.
Our Schedule from October through the end of the school year will resemble some of the following times:
MONDAY-WEDNESDAY-FRIDAY 5:30 a.m. – 7 a.m. – Community Basketball, Swim, Fitness and Weight Area
SATURDAY – 7 a.m. – 9 a.m. Swim, Fitness and Weight Area
After school access to Weight and Fitness times: TBD
