Blueberry Picking Time

Mrs. Bast, our early elementary reading specialist, has a friend who grows blueberries.  Each summer, Mrs. Bast and her family visit this blueberry farm to pick buckets of berries.  I can only imagine how wonderful the blueberry pie tasted!  (Mrs. Bast is a wonderful baker.)

The sandy soil along the lakeshore provides great drainage for blueberry plants.  Areas with sandy soil and full sun make for the best conditions and Holland, Michigan is ripe with berries for picking!
