Week 7: October 19-23, 2015

We have our first MARCO’s PIZZA NIGHT this week!  Remember, a percentage of the profits from the Georgetown Pizza orders come back to our school.  Also, the class that orders the most pizza’s wins a Marco’s pizza lunch.  The money our school earns on Pizza Nights go to our Parent Club budget which helps to support learning events, family events and investment in learning materials.

If your child was at school on Friday, they cheered the staff on for a game of BUBBLE SOCCER.  It was a fun event…and believe me, it’s harder than it looks and as fun as it looks.  Don’t miss this post about our special guests and the video highlights of the game.

Our first BOOK FAIR is fast approaching. This is a big event and one of the many events sponsored by our Parent Club.  Jody Hunt, SUPER CHAIR, is passionate about getting kids to read — and we love this and many other things about her.  She has this message for parents:

Happy Fall!  It is once again time for our Fall Scholastic Book Fair.  We love getting kids into reading!!   By partnering with Scholastic we have been able to provide our teachers with hundreds of books for their classroom libraries.  We are so thankful for our parent volunteers that help us put this on.

Thank you to those that have signed up to volunteer already!  We are still looking for a few more volunteers.  Please visit this site to volunteer.  For helping out you get a 10% DISCOUNT on all your shopping during book fair week.  Ask me for more details and thank you in advance for you help!    Jody Hunt, Book Fair Chairperson                               jmhunt21@hotmail.com

Have a great weekend.  Here’s to a fantastic week!
