News From the Office…

Welcome back to school! It has been a great first week! The kids are doing amazing and it has been a smooth start! We just want to remind you that there is no school tomorrow or Monday. We will be back on Tuesday, Sept. 5.

We have our first Early Release on Friday Sept. 15. We will be dismissing at 12:15 on Sept. 15. If your child is a car rider, please be at school between 12:10 and 12:15 for pick up.  Food Service will be offering a sack lunch on early release days. Children can order a lunch with their teacher in the morning and will have them to take to their destination.  The cost will be $2.50.  Free and reduced benefits will also apply.

 

PTC News…

Sept. 14 – First Jet’s Pizza Night. Make this night an easy dinner night and order some delicious Jet’s Pizza! When you order, tell them your child’s teacher’s name. The class with the highest total will win a pizza party! Also Jet’s donates a portion of the proceeds back to Georgetown school! Thank you for your support!

Oct 5 – First PTC meeting! It will be at 6:30 in the library. Please come and learn what is going on at Georgetown and how you as a parent can get involved!!

Community News…

•The Byron Center Chamber of Commerce is organizing the Inaugural Byron Center Adventure Race on Saturday, October 7, 2017, for youth from age 8 to age 14.
In an exciting, one-hour event, Eight- through Fourteen-year-olds will work with their teammates to find checkpoints and solve challenges in various locations within the approximately 31 acres of the Byron Center High School property.  Checkpoints will be marked with colored flags; challenges will include age-appropriate physical and mental games and tests which require teamwork.  Participants will compete with those of similar ages to win prizes.  An After-Race Bash will help all celebrate the fun!
•Septemberfest Arts and Craft Show sponsored by Hudsonville Christian School will be held on Saturday, September 16, from 9am-3pm at the Hudsonville Fairgrounds. Admission is $2, and a food booth is available for refreshments and lunch. 170+ booths represent a wide variety of products from the finest local vendors. Hager Park Church is partnering with Feeding America West Michigan to provide a Mobile Food Distribution. The food distribution will take place at Hager Park Church’s parking lot, located at 2635 Bauer Road in Jenison. Sign-in is required, although the food is FREE to anyone that needs it. There will be a large assortment of food, consisting of fresh seasonal produce and other high-quality grocery items.

•Hudsonville Eagles Aquatic Teams
Open House: Thursday, September 7th 6:00-8:00pm
 
Who We Are:
Hudsonville Eagles Aquatic Teams (HEAT).
We are composed of age group swimming and water polo teams. We offer different levels
in each sport. Since HEAT is community-ed run, it is growing quickly and we would love
to have your child be apart of it! These teams allow an opportunity for our
elementary and middle school kids to jump in and excel towards our varsity sports at Hudsonville.
