Week 11: Nov 14-18, 2016

supermoonWe start our week off with a SUPERMOON!  This is the closest the moon will be to the earth since 1948 — and with clear skies early Monday morning, it should be SPECTACULAR.

We have another mild week of weather forecasted and we plan to take advantage with some extra brain breaks outside.  Our students (K-5) are intently focused on learning all day long and any opportunity to build in movement — getting them up and out of their seats — is essential.  When the weather is poor, we use GO NOODLE to promote movement.  And…when the weather is nice, we use fresh air!

Before I wrap up, I want to thank all parents who attended Parent/Teacher Conferences last week.  We value the 15 minutes of time we have to connect with you about your child.  Our relationship with you helps us to support your child as a learner and a person.  Also, many thanks to Jen Mazarka and Erin Fredricks who organized a meal for teachers on Monday night, 11/7.  Thank you as well to Jody Hunt and the many volunteers who helped children shop for books at our November Book Fair.

Other big highlights of this week are posted below.

Have a spectacular SUPERMOON week!
