Using Technology to Showcase Writers

Mrs. VanHaitsma, our English Language Learner teacher, uses every tool available to help her students learn the complexities of the English language.  In December, Mrs. VanHaitsma shared a story written by Leah who is a native Chinese speaker and is quickly becoming very skilled in her second language, English.

Visit Mrs. VanHaitsma’s blog to hear and see Leah’s well written story. She will brighten your day!

Go Lincoln Logs!

Log Flag

Cool boysMrs. Reagan reads  Love That Dog to our class everyday.  One day, she stayed for indoor recess.  We made a BIG lincoln log castle.  We asked her to take a picture and put it on the blog.  She said she would if we wrote a story.  This is the story.

The Golden Hat

Mrs. Reagan took pictures of me in my golden hat.  I asked her to put these on the blog.  She said she would if I wrote a story about the hat.  Here is my story:

The Golden Hat

by Hayden, Mrs. Greenlund’s Room

I got a golden hat from Party City.

They have Irish hats and lots of different hats, too.

I picked out the golden hat and golden glasses.

My brother Maxx picked out a black hat and a golden cane.
